I felt a kick!!!

Unbelievable! I was sitting on the couch today working as usual and all of a sudden I felt a kick! I didn't know what to think at first - I just felt a gentle little puck. I have been waiting to feel a little kick now for the last week cause woman can sometimes feel it as early as 16 weeks - so at first, I thought I was just imagining it and went back to work. Then I was on a conference call about 30 minutes later and I felt it again - a gentle little punch in my lower abdomen. Then I felt it 2 more times throughout the next hour. So I am convinced that the little baby is starting to kick and make it presence known to the world! I haven't felt anything since, so he/she is probably sleeping - probably enjoying the afternoon snack of chocolate candies I had :) I don't think Ryan will be able to feel the kick yet as it is too gentle - but hopefully in the next couple of weeks it will get a little stronger. It is a strange and unbelievable sensation - one that I am sure I will grow to love over the next few months (as long as he/she doesn't kick too hard!!)

Well the ultrasound is on Monday and so I am so excited to see the baby - finally! We are able to bring in a VHS tape so that they can record it which will be great - I will have to find a VHS (does anyone use these anymore? - luckily my parents still have one!) so I can show Ryan the little baby that evening. Monday will be the big decision - should we decide to know the sex of the baby? From looking at the poll, it is a very tight decision - although slightly favored in not finding out the sex. I guess it will be a game time decision as I am still complete undecided!!

Talk to you all later!

A weekend of eating! - I'm Full!!

Oh, I love Thanksgiving! Ryan and I had a wonderful weekend with our families and eating all the wonderful food that was cooked - Baby Nagy liked it too :) On Wednesday evening, we drove to North Chicago and enjoyed spending time with our Emma and Reagon, our niece and nephew that live in Portland, Ryan's grandad (see pictures above), Ryan's Parents, Elizabeth, Mike, Brent & Chris. We had a wonderful time watching movies, playing board games, eating and just relaxing! Sammy (our dog) made the big trip with us in the car and was very excited. Reggie stayed with my parents in Indianapolis as she wanted to hang out will her buddy Bill.

Then on Friday, we drove back to Indy to spend time with my parents, Bill, Frank, Karen and little Liam. I will post some pictures of Liam asap (they are on my mom's camera). He is growing up so fast and is such a smart little boy. I had so much fun playing with him!

Ryan and I decorated our house for Christmas yesterday and got our tree up - I love this time of year as I always feel homes look so much more cozy! Here is a picture of Reggie this morning as she was waking up.

The weekend has ended now and Ryan and I are preparing for a busy work week! Tonight we are watching the Bears play (Go Bears!). I took my first tummy picture and am posting it - as you can see, I am starting to get quite a tummy - although I am sure some of it is from all the yummy food I ate this weekend :) Talk to you soon - Love Katherine

Ryan and I are heading up to the north Chicago Suburbs to spend Thanksgiving with the Nagy family. Then we will be coming back to Indianapolis on Friday to spend the weekend with the Deane family (and little Liam - see the picture of the little cutie??!!). I hope you all have a wonderful time with your families and friends - Thanks for visiting my blog today as well - it is so fun! Safe Travels and HappyThanksgiving to all!! :)

My 3rd Doctor's Visit

Well my Mom and I went to the doctor on Friday for my 3rd visit. Unfortunately Ryan has been unable to attend my doctor visits as he is at the hospital (they don't give doctor's time off to see their own babies!) Thankfully I have the best mom ever who comes with me to these visits! We got to hear the little heartbeat - it is so amazing and has gotten much stronger from last visit!! The doctor measured my stomach too - and at 16 weeks it is supposed to be 9-10cm - mine was 15cm! So needless to say, my mom is convinced that we are having twins! We won't know until the ultrasound though which is scheduled for the week of December 9th - There are twins on both sides of our family, so it will be fun to see! Either way, we will be thrilled! Hopefully, I will have the ultrasound picture to share with some of you at Mark's wedding in London in a few weeks!

Ryan and I are still trying to determine if we want to know the sex of the baby - we would be able to find out at this next appointment - so take our poll at the bottom of the blog to help us decide! There are perks to both so it is a tough decision!

Luckily, I am not suffering from any symptoms anymore -just a growing tummy! None of my pants fit me now - so I am sticking mostly to tights and loose dresses! I am definitely in that awkward stage where people wonder if I have just gained some extra weight or if I am pregnant. I can't wait to be out of this stage so that people just know I am pregnant! :)

We are starting to get ready for this baby - it is starting to become a little more real now. Ryan and I purchased a book, "The Expectant Father" and we try to read from every week - Although I usually have to "remind" him that is time to read, it is a lot of fun once we start - quite humorous!

I will take some pictures over Thanksgiving and post them so you can see what my tummy is starting to look like :)

Much love and talk to you all soon!
xoxo

Welcome to our Baby Blog!

So my friends Janelle, Susie and Abby have the most wonderful blogs dedicated to thier little ones - and I thought it was such a great idea that I started one too. There are so many of my friends and family that do not live close by and can not go through this experience with Ryan and I :( Hopefully, I can keep you up to date with the baby news and developments through this blog.
